Account Lead – NATO

Location: UK (hybrid flexibility to work from home) with travel to NATO sites in Europe and the USA. 

Hours: Full time

The Role:

Due to continued growth, Sirius Analysis are looking to add an experienced technical NATO Account Lead with proven Defence sector experience to their team. Working alongside other Account Leads, in this role you will lead the growth and development of the NATO account including NATO HQ, Allied Command Transformation (ACT), Allied Command Operations (ACO), the NATO Communications Information Agency (NCIA) and other NATO entities. You will be expected to identify and help win new business within NATO directly, via frameworks and through collaborations with other businesses. You will oversee and work with existing NATO framework managers and project teams providing advice and oversight, whilst ensuring their outputs are exploited within NATO.


Responsibilities will include:

    • Identifying and developing the NATO account, managing own lead generation.
    • Managing business performance for the NATO account, meeting business growth expectations.
    • Reporting regular metrics in relation to current and future trends for the NATO account.
    • Monitoring NATO strategies and trends in order to identify NATO account needs and their business drivers to maximize opportunities.
    • Designing and executing a NATO focused account strategy aligned to business goals.
    • Strategically engaging NATO customers, competitors and partners, providing effective solutions.
    • Attending NATO customer meetings, events and exhibitions as required, providing a report afterwards to Directors and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
    • Working with project management and technical teams regarding NATO requirements, providing bid input, supporting resource allocation and technical delivery.
    • Internally communicating the agreed strategy with the wider business, highlighting NATO strategies, pipeline and opportunities.
    • Working closely with the Marketing Manager regarding NATO account support.
    • Representing the business in a professional manner to promote Sirius to existing and potential NATO customers and partners, upholding our reputation.
    • Exploiting existing networks and developing new networks within the NATO ecosystem.
    • Mentoring and supporting the development of technical, typically more junior staff, to ensure they are familiar with NATO structure, operating models, processes and behaviour required to operate in an international defence environment.
    • Travelling to NATO Command Structure (NCS) or other NATO entity sites within Europe and the USA to support the above activities.
    • Conducting other activities as required by your Line Manager e.g. technical assurance, marketing (e.g. case studies), other company initiatives.

About You

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following essential and desirable attributes:

Essential Qualifications and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, ideally in an Science Technology Engineering Maths (STEM) related subject or similar.
    • Proven account management and business development experience within Defence, particularly NATO.
    • Experience working within international defence environment e.g. NCS.
    • Knowledge and or experience of NCS and key NATO processes e.g. Common Funded Capability Delivery & Governance Model (CFCDGM), NATO Defence Planning Process (NDPP)
    • Technical knowledge, experience and business networks within the Defence sector, particularly NATO.
    • Proven success in developing, managing and winning bids within a Defence Consultancy environment.
    • Outstanding consulting skills, communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience of providing creative solutions to solve key challenges.
    • Proven relationship building and influencing skills.


Other Requirements

    • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
    • Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access.
    • Candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
    • Candidates will need to hold or be eligible to hold NATO Secret (NS) clearance.
    • Candidates will need to have a passport and be eligible to travel to the USA and Europe.
