Approvals, Analysis and Systems Engineering

Ministry of Defence LogoSirius are the lead for Approvals, Assurance and Value for Money (VfM) on Skynet 6 Management Consultancy Framework Three (MCF3). Skynet 6 is the third largest acquisition programme in the UK MOD, and will deliver the next generation of UK military satellites and their ground services. Sirius have written the key supporting documents for several successful Business Cases on the programme, covering investment in the space and ground segments. Sirius lead the development of Concepts of Analysis (CoAs) across the programme, bringing together OA, cost and schedule analysis to deliver VfM justification for Business Case submission.

Sirius are also supporting Skynet 6, as technical lead for the segment of the programme dealing with the future provision of services.

Analysis Support Construct

dstl Logo Carl Dalton was previously the Maritime and Costs Technical Lead for the last 5 years. In this role he was responsible for helping customers develop their Statement of Requirements, conducting a technical assessment of competitor responses and provide feedback to customers and the Project Management Office, ensuring the supplier proposal meets the required quality standards, attended key meetings throughout the task, checking that the supplier meets the internal assurance requirements, supported all parties in the technological areas of the task, reviewing deliverables before release to the customer, ensuring coherence and support exploitation as well as maintaining good relationship with customers and stakeholders.

ASTRID Framework

Astrid LogoThe ASTRID Framework was awarded to BAE Corda in April 2020 and as part of the management team, Carl Dalton was appointed Maritime and Cost Technical Lead. A role he has continued from the replaced Analysis Support Construct and the activities are similar with the addition of an Initial Estimate Analysis with the customer prior to supplier selection and more formal recording of deliverable reviews.

AWE

Analysis and modelling

AWE LogoSirius have applied MBSE techniques for requirement analysis and modelling of a key nuclear project. This covers modelling the lifecycle of nuclear products and the legal, regulatory, environmental and safety standards that apply to the facilities. This includes the activities that give rise to radiation risks, including nuclear installations, the use of radiation and radioactive sources, the transport of radioactive material and the management of radioactive waste, including requirements modelling or AWE the lifecycle.
