Sirius are delighted to announce that Samantha Smale, Nathan Gallacher, Holly Lawrence, Imogen Bangert, Matthew Dinovski, Jaspal Kang, Oscar Miles, Vinayak Narayan and Hugo Hall have joined the team.

Samantha Smale has joined the team as a Project manager after serving eight years in the Royal Navy. As a Warfare officer with a specialist in Hydrography and meteorology she has served on multiple platforms across the world from Antarctica to the Mediterranean. Sam’s latest role saw her Commanding a small patrol vessel in UK and European waters, running multi-vessel deployments within national and international operations.

Nathan Gallacher studied BSc Economics Hons at Plymouth University, achieving a First Class Honours. For his final year project, Nathan investigated unconventional monetary policy used by the Bank of England to combat the Great Recession of 2007-09, as well as the COVID-19 recession, comparing the two and analysing the impact of the policies and the overall outcome. Whilst at university, Nathan was a founding member of the Plymouth Night Patrol, which successfully provided medical and welfare services to students on nights out in Plymouth’s busiest night time areas, gaining national recognition and support from a number of different companies and groups. 

Holly Lawrence has joined the team as a Project Manager after seven years in the Royal Navy. She has served across multiple platforms globally as a Navigator in the Royal Navy delivering complex navigation plans in short time frames. Her most recent job was as the lead instructor at HMS COLLINGWOOD where she trained the future generation of Warfare Officers whilst working on multiple projects to improve the training standards. 

Imogen Bangert has joined the team as recruitment and HR support, after recently graduating from the University of Chichester with an upper Second Class Honours in Creative writing. She has five years’ experience in hospitality management, specialising in customer service, recruitment, leadership, business management, finance and marketing. Imogen is currently completing a part time MA in creative writing.

Matthew Dinkovski has joined Sirius as a Graduate Operations Analyst after graduating from the University of Southampton with a First Class Honours in BSc Mathematics. During his studies, Matthew encountered Operational analysis and some of its different applications, such as network modelling analysis and how this links to the stability of a biological system. Matthew is excited to learn about the range of projects the company carry out to broaden his knowledge in this field. In his free time Matthew enjoys both playing and watching football, running, and spending time with friends and family. 

Jaspal Kang joins as a Graduate Analyst, having graduated from the University of Warwick with a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Physics. His final year project explored layered single crystal structures by analysing their structure, as well as their magnetic properties. He has gained experience using python and C programming to solve physics problems. He also has an interest in machine learning algorithms in the field of artificial intelligence. Jaspal enjoys playing sports such as football, pool and snooker in his spare time.

Oscar Miles joins Sirius Analysis with 8 years’ experience in Aerospace industry and a First Class Master’s degrees in both Physics with Space Science and Electronic Engineering. Before joining Sirius, he worked at DE&S for 5 years, starting in the DESG Graduate Scheme and progressing to be an Engineer in the Future Capability Group and finally in the Space Delivery Team. Most notably, he has experience supporting the customer through the procurement of a space system Operational Capability Demonstrator, from conception through to demonstration. In addition to Engineering roles, Oscar has worked in a variety of positions including software testing, space weather research, data analysis, technical writer and UAV pilot. He recently received a scholarship from UKSA and ESA to gain interdisciplinary, international and intercultural professional development through the International Space University.

Vinayak Narayan joins as a Graduate Analyst in the Systems Engineering team. He holds a Master’s degree in Space Engineering from the University of Surrey, and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering. During his academic journey, Vinny stood out as the team leader in the IMechE UAS Challenge, where he led a multidisciplinary team for two years in the design, manufacture and test of an autonomous UAV. Additionally, Vinny’s Master’s dissertation delved into the design and simulation of a Low-Power Hall Effect Thruster, showcasing his experience and love of space technology. With this diverse background, Vinny eagerly anticipates contributing his expertise to our projects. Beyond his professional pursuits, he enjoys analogue film photography and is currently learning to play electric guitar.

Hugo Hall joins as a P3M Consultant. He graduated from Exeter University with a First Class Degree in Business and has since gained his PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification whilst working as a project manager within the Cyber/Information security industry coordinating penetration testing projects for both the public and private sector. He has a passion for the Defence and Security industry and is committed to delivering complex projects in line with stakeholder expectations.
