One of our colleagues, Jan Musson, recently volunteered as part of a team to install life-size silhouettes representing the 255 members of the British Armed Forces and the 3 civilians who gave their lives during the 1982 Falklands War. Originating last year to commemorate the 40th anniversary of conflict, the silhouettes have been on display around the UK and are now on display in Fort Nelson until 7th July.
Message from Jan:
“If you are local, it is truly worth a visit – it is free entry to the Fort and just £3 for parking. It is a great museum to visit with families and needs the support of visitors to maintain its status of the Royal Armories.”
If like Jan you are in the Portsmouth area and interested in a bit of history, we would encourage you to go enjoy the museum and the temporary memorial. Kudos to Jan for volunteering!
